Employee Sales Forecast Maintenance

Introduction

The Employee Sales Forecast Maintenance Report was developed to give managers the tools to be able to predict what a salesperson and/or team sells in a specific shop over a certain timespan while also comparing these predictions to actual sales. The Employee Sales Forecasts Maintenance application allows you to foresee potential issues before they arise, make sure employee sales quotas are met and judge your team’s performance. The report for this maintenance application can be found under Operator Management / Reports - Employee Sales Forecast Report.

Initial (Main Search) Screen

  • From the Operator Management / Reports menu, select Employee Sales Forecast Maintenance.

  • An initial search screen (like the one shown below) should appear.

  • Click Clear to reset the search criteria and result fields back to their default values.

  • The Store value is required, only one store may be selected from the user’s store visibility list.

  • The user must select one store from their store visibility list, but if only one store is visible to the user, that store is selected by default.

  • The Start Date field defaults to the present month but can be changed.

  • The End Date field defaults to the next month but can be changed.

  • The Start Date and End Date fields cannot exceed a 12-month span.

Adding Employee Sales Goal

  • Employee sales goal data is added on the Initial Main Screen shown previously.

  • The user must have editing permissions to be able to add Employee Sales Goals.

  • The user can only add or update data for the current or future weeks, not for previous weeks.

  • The first row of the month consists of all employee data for that month. This row is not editable.

  • The Employee Name column consists of an “Add Employee” button

  • Click Add Employee.

  • A blank dropdown, a plus icon and a minus icon appear.

  • The blank dropdown defaults to blank unless employees have been previously searched and added.

  • Click the Plus Icon. The Employee Search screen appears.

  • Enter in the Employee ID or both First and Last Name of the employee.

  • Click Search. The results will display in the search screen as shown below.

  • Highlight the employee’s results row and click Select.

  • The employee’s name will now default into the drop-down box.

  • Insert Sales Goal: Quantity Sold and Sales Goal: Amount Sold are both integers.

  • The Minus Icon deletes the employee sales goal data inserted previously.

  • Click Save to save the employee sales forecasts as work in progress for later updating.

    • A dialog appears confirming that the progress has been saved.

  • Data gets populated into the Actual: Qty Sold and Actual: Amount Sold fields once the sales for that month have taken place.

  • If a sales goal quantity or sales goal amount field is higher than the actual sales quantity or the actual sales amount the field, the field will get highlighted in red.

  • If a sales goal quantity or sales goal amount field is lower than the actual sales quantity or the actual sales amount the field, the field will get highlighted in green.

Results

Results Grid

By default, the results are displayed in grid form. The information displayed in the results table is based on the search criteria selected previously.

The following columns appear in the results grid:

  • Month – the month the sales goals/actual sales took place

  • Week – the week the sales goals/actual sales took place

  • Employee Name - the name of the employee

  • Sales Goal: Qty Sold – the goal number of sales for the specific week/month

  • Sales Goal: Amount Sold – the goal amount in sales for the specific week/month

  • Actual: Qty Sold – the actual number of sales for the specific week/month

  • Actual: Amount Sold – the actual amount in sales for the specific week/month

  • % To Goal (Amount) – the percentage of actual amount of sales to the goal amount

    • Highlighted in green if the % is greater than 100% of the goal amount

    • Highlighted in red if the % is less than 100% of the goal amount

Other Commands

Export

The Export function allows the user to save the report as a comma-separated values (CSV) file for use in Excel. Once you have a result set that is filtered as desired, click the Export button. The file is saved as EmployeeSalesForecastmaintenance-yyyy-m-d.csv in the default location, typically the Downloads folder for the user.

Print

The Print function allows the user to save the report as an Acrobat PDF file for viewing/printing in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once you have a result set that is filtered as desired, click the Print button. The file is saved as EmployeeSalesForecastMaintenanceReport.pdf in the default location, typically the Downloads folder for the user.
